Brenda Bradford – Director
Brenda Bradford is an educational consultant working with school districts to evaluate college readiness initiatives, design training programs and initiate projects that bring about creative solutions for improving education. She consults with non-profits on education policy, expansion and strategic planning.
Brenda was formerly the President of Advanced Placement Strategies, Inc., a multi-million dollar 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation that works with school districts in the state of Texas to increase the number of students taking and qualifying on the Advanced Placement exams. Brenda worked with corporate and private donors such as Texas Instruments, Bank of America and the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation. APS was the model for the development of the National Math and Science Initiative (NMSI) created to remedy the national need for more math and science teachers.
A 33-year public school educator, Brenda was a teacher, department chair, lead teacher and administrator. As a Calculus BC teacher at the School for Science and Engineering in Dallas Independent School District (“ISD”), her students’ qualifying AP scores rose from 32 to 102 in three years and in 2002, the number of BC Calculus qualifying scores for her minority students was number 1 in the nation. She has had extensive experience writing curricula and training teachers.
Brenda has received awards such as Chevron "Best Practices" Award and Tandy Technology Teacher of the Year. She was a member of the founding team that authored the math guides for Laying the Foundations resource guide in Pre-Calculus, a resource and training guide currently being used to train thousands of teachers nationwide. She edited Schaum's Abridged Outline for College Algebra for McGraw-Hill. Brenda authored SAT review materials and owned an SAT review business for ten years.
Brenda has a BS in Mathematics Education from Dallas Baptist University and an MS in Secondary Education from Northern Illinois University. She is married with 3 children and 9 grandchildren.
Kevin F. Breeding – Director
Kevin Breeding currently serves as Executive Creative Director of Bigham Agency, Inc.
Before joining The Bigham Agency, Kevin held several senior level positions including Chief Operating Officer and Co-Founder of Compass Business Plans, Senior Vice President of Production at Creative Producers Group, and Director of Advertising, International Division, Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. He was responsible for global advertising in eight countries with print, broadcast and electronic campaigns in six languages.
As a strategic consultant, he has served as Chief Marketing Officer for a private equity firm, and interim Chief Operating Officer and lead strategist for large event-based nonprofit organization. In addition, Kevin served as Partner at Hutchinson Group; a Washington D.C. based consulting firm founded by the former Homeland Security Secretary.
Kevin earned his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from the University of Arkansas, and a Bachelors Degree in Religion from Missouri Baptist University. Kevin has won numerous awards for creative design and advertising, including a documentary Emmy® Award.
Jacque Calverley – Director
Jacque Calverley and her husband, Rick Calverley, of Arlington, Texas began a small business in August 1979 with just the two of them as employees. Over the next twenty years, Calverley Air Conditioning became one of the premier heating and air conditioning companies in the Dallas-Ft. Worth metroplex, growing to 49 employees and working in commercial and residential construction services of all types. Jacque served as President and Chief Financial Officer of the company and supervised all employee relations and other human resource areas. In August of 1999, Lennox International purchased Calverley Air Conditioning for $2.5 million.
Alicia G. Curran – Director
Alicia G. Curran is a Member at Cozen O’Connor law firm in the Dallas office. She represents and advises insurance companies in complex coverage and extra-contractual third and first party matters. She leads a highly motivated legal team specializing in representation of insurers and the defense of their insureds. Alicia's emphasis on early development of factual issues, innovative case positioning, problem resolution, and timely information assists her clients in obtaining positive case results.
Alicia is admitted to practice in Texas and before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Western Districts of Texas, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the Dallas Bar Association including its Tort and Insurance and Construction Law sections, and the Defense Research Institute.
Alicia has practiced law since 1983, earning her law degree from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law. She also has a master of business administration from Southern Methodist University and bachelor of business administration, where she specialized in finance, from Texas Tech University.
Ann Peek – Director
Trained in the 70s as a physical therapist, Ann Peek specialized in neurologic rehabilitation, specifically spinal cord injury, brain injury, and stroke, maximizing the opportunities for the patients to live out the truest expression of themselves as human beings.
At the time Ann earned her Physical Therapy degree, she believed her education to be one grounded in the sciences. Over subsequent years, she has added the humanities to her educational acumen reading the classics in the areas of literature, history, philosophy and religious studies. In 2008, Ann earned her Master of Arts degree in Humanities at Pacifica Graduate Institute in Carpinteria, California and is now in the dissertation phase at Pacifica.
Each of Ann and Bruce Peek’s children has chosen life’s work in the areas of education. Kara, their daughter, is a 5th/6th grade English teacher and just beginning to find her place in this arena. Cam, their son, is a coordinator of teachers of English in Sendai, Japan.
Ann has also had the opportunity to serve on the Ethics Committee at Verde Valley Medical Center where she offers insight in first observing the level on which a problem is presented and then identifying the perceived problem, especially difficult in an environment where moral and religious backgrounds clash.
